Aakaar, Asia’s largest civil engineering department festival was successfully conducted on the 18th and 19th of March 2023 at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. After a gap of 3 years, this 15th edition of Aakaar-2023 was fully offline at IIT Bombay, where about 2000 footfall of participants took place with more than 300 outstation students staying at IIT Bombay, who came from various other IITs, NITs, CFTIs, State and Private Colleges across India.

This year’s 15th Aakaar-2023 had total 35 technical events, which was almost double the number of previous year’s events, including 10 Lecture series by several eminent industrialists, academicians, and policymakers, with panel discussions. Keynote Lecture by Dr. NIRANJAN HIRANANDANI was the show stealer of Aakaar-2023 with maximum audience. Total of 16 competitions took place during these two days, with 5 parallel workshops.

The success of this mega event, Aakaar-2023, includes team members Overall Coordinator Chitra Yadav Ashish Sharma Rohit Srivastava Aaditya Ola Avinash Kumar Akshat Jain Dinesh Kumar Nitin Singh Aditya Malhotra Manasi Bandichode Vaishnavi Shinde Shreyanshi Agarwal Tanu SIngh Dhananjay Kumar Dhruvi Amaliya Shubham Jadhav Himanshi Yadav Divyansh Agarwal dedication and their hard work with one of the best organizational skills demonstrated with huge support from a large team of friends and students from the department.

Overall, Aakaar Asia’s largest civil department festival was a resounding success. The event showcased the immense talent and potential of the civil engineering community and highlighted the critical role that civil engineering plays in shaping our world. The festival was a testament to the power of collaboration, innovation, and creativity in advancing the field of civil engineering.

As the audience said, we are eagerly awaiting the next year’s 16th Aakaar-2024 by the Civil Engineering department of IIT Bombay.
